You know, riding a bike is like being part of an unmentioned brotherhood for many of us. We look for other bikes, waiting to wave, pulling in where other bikes are parked, and sneaking in a chat if we have a chance. For Valk riders, the large family we have is worldwide. Most of us are on the Valkyrie board at one point or another, either watching for ride opportunities... or perhaps just seeing what the others are doing. Occasionally, you will see a post like “I saw a red and black Valk near your city today,” I wonder who it was...and often someone will answer to say it was them... pretty cool. Well today, I met two Valk Riders as we preparing to leave. The conversation began like “nice Harley” you got there. Instant keyword for some of us. It is not a dig on Harleys, but lets face it, most non riders don’t know the difference between any bikes with chrome on them. I can’t tell how many times I have been asked what kind of Harley I was riding....duh!.. I have a six cylinder bike, the valve covers hang off the side and are massive! Anyway these guys were heading the way I had been.. and they of course were members of the Valkyrie F6rider website. It was a great conversation...and welcome break from riding... So I guess, the only thing that I rate near the same importance as riding the bike is talking to other Valk riders!!!
Away we go... and it had been more than 20 years since I had been through La Veta...so the route was determined...of course rain was pending! read more...
