I purchased “Bons” (see TheDigiSync.com) digital carburetor sync device and re-synced my carbs. In fact, I spent some time playing and tinkering with them. I have never got the gas mileage from this bike that I did from my other 99 Interstate. I still don't, but this a great tool, and it did help some. My mileage ran in the 30's for this trip. The exception was one jaunt heading back into Texas with a 30 mph headwind and 75-80 mph ground speed. In the mountains at slower speeds, I pushed well into the 40 mpg range and bumped 50 a couple of times.
But I digress!!!
My brother-n-law arrived Friday evening before departure, I installed a spare Sena SMH10 headset into his helmet so we would have communications while we were riding. Saturday morning was determined to be KSU at approximately 7:30... And we begin! read more...
